Is American Sign Language easier or more difficult to learn a language that normal?
I am a student of the Bachelor of Justice Criminal. I was thinking about the fulfillment of certain requirements of my choice, taking a class in American Sign Language. How difficult is to learn ASL? Is it less or more difficult than typical languages? Kirax – No sign language is not universal. Some countries use the same types, but there are many other different. For example England and Japan use two different types that are different from the American way.
You are correct in sign language is not universal. Language American Sign Language is the primary language of deaf people in the United States and Canada. In other countries, have their own sign language. For example BSL (British Sign Language) is completely different from ASL. FSL (French Sign Language) is nearer to ASL from FSL ASL helped create. Galludet, U.S. went and met Clerc (a deaf person from France) and went and formed the first deaf school and American Sign Language. Anyway, is more universal than other languages … but not really. I think deaf people could communicate more easily anywhere a person could, in English and a Spanish country. Anyway: ASL (American Sign Language) not that hard to learn. It takes practice and dedication and many schools will accept one semester of ASL to fulfill 1 year of credit! This is due to a semester which is usually in ASL 1 and the second half is in ASL 2. It does confuse many people because it has its own sentence structure and has its own syntax. In addition, facial expressions are very important. Sign Language can move quickly and you should pay very good attention in class. Also, remember that you must be sure that you are taking a class in American Sign Language, not a SEE (Signed English exactly) class. SEE signature does not count as a foreign language since it has almost no history and follows the rules of English with ASL signs. ESS is frowned upon in the deaf community. I think it would be an excellent ASL to learn the language.
