backlinks and google pagerank?
I need to get back-links for my website, how do I know the back-links will be found by google? one of my sites has over 1000 backlinks in yahoo but only 6 in google.
Andy ideas?

I think that those over 1000 backlinks you’ve got for your site come from 6 main uri. Google will only count them as 6 original/unique links to fight against webmasters who are very creative in producing backlinks
Backlink is for websites is something like what reputation is for humans. Ordinarily search engines calculate the number of links pointed at any particular websites to decide ranking.
Previously, there were many sites which provided free-reciprocated or paid links, known as "link farm".
However, Google Pagerank finds out such links and do not count such link and penalize such sites.
So you need to earn backlinks (just like reputation) for your website with good content, regular and loyal readers/visitors who backlink your site in their blogs/sites.
