ok im really gettn mad. i have been working on my site. for 6-7hrs a day for over a month. i have over 11,000 articles, and my site haas over 2,000 backlinks, and google has indexed over 4,000 pages, yahoo has index a liltle over 600, and other search engines like altavista has over 300 pages, msn, every search engine has my site. i still only get 40 page views a day OMFG, i seen this other site did research on them they only have 403 pages indexed by google and not even found in any other search engines and only have 102 backlinks and they get over 5,000 page views per day please help me my site is www.dramaticblogger.com is there something wrong.

I understand the basic idea of what the cache version of a website is, but what I’m wondering is, does being cached improve my websites placement in search engines? Will my site pop up higher in search engine results versus sites that are not cached?

Hey all, about a week ago I launched my website. I’ve been updating several times daily with new contents. I even have Google AdSense on the site already. But I find it necessary to backlink the site. I’ve heard of one program, NTX, but the site appears to be out of service. So, my question is do you know of any good programs to backlink to while you can also earn some cash? From what I’ve heard, NTX is really good. They have a point system that essentially the money. Hey guys,

I’m building a site with a few different sections, and I’ve decided to put these different sections in subdomains.

Doing some research, it seems a popular theory is that Google considers subdomains as a completely different website to the main domain (albeit, on the same IP).

My question is, would one way links from my subdomain to my main domain, have the same value as a one way backlink from a completely different site?

It also raises the question of whether Google really does care about links between sites on the same IP.

Opinions?

I do SEO for 5 different clients, all of them are either top for their keywords or at least on the first page. I study SEO all the time and would like to think I know what I am doing.

One of clients wanted me to optimise his car website for ‘VAG Tuning and Styling’ in the UK, and for ‘VAG Tuning’. Now for the keywords ‘VAG Tuning and Styling’ I got his website to number 2 in Google.

‘VAG Tuning’ was proving more difficult as it was much more competitive. I located the website on page 9 for that keyword and started building backlinks soley for ‘VAG Tuning’. The website climbed to page 4 after a couple of weeks then suddenly one it disappeared!

I looked every where and found it on page 19!….then a couple of days after it was on page 21, then 23 but only for the keyword ‘VAG Tuning’. The other keywords I optimised him for he was still in the same strong positions.

I should point out that I only do ethical SEO and never try any black hat techniques. I asked my client has he had any server issues, has any one else been making changes behind the site which have upset Google but he assures me hasn’t.

I am at a loss as how it could drop so dramatically for one keyword but be fine or all the others. My other SEO clients all have multiple keywords ranking well and I’ve never had this situation before. When I study the website (www.cthtuning.co.uk) off page, on page and behind the scenes I see no reason why it went from page 4 to page 23 in a couple of days.

Could anyone offer any advice or what they think caused it? Be much appreciated.

I was told that if you comment on blogs then that builds backlinks to your website and improves the ranks in google, but if you answer questions on yahoo answers and leave your website url then it doesnt build backlinks and doesnt improve ranking. Why?

I registered a site .tv and .co but Yahoo search engines can not find it. But Google does a fantastic job (what I expect).

Then I hear I have to pay for Yahoo search placement for websites. And I am appalled that they want me to pay for search engine placement. I do not hate Yahoo. But I honestly prefer Google over yahoo 99%. Me asking is the 1% for asking why does yahoo suck?

As a web publisher one topic that hear about all the time from other publishers and bloggers is search engine optimization (SEO). People today seem obsessed with driving traffic to their sites. People ask me frequently about how to increase website traffic or how to increase website ranking. The first thing I always ask them is if they know how search engines index websites. Then who ever I’m speaking with usually pauses for a minute to think, stares at me blankly, and then says no. At which point, I usually laugh and say don’t worry neither do I.

The truth is no one knows exactly how search engines index websites. The largest and most widely used search engine is Google hands down, and Google has officially reported that they have never and will never release the algorithm that their search engine uses to rank websites. Now, some of you may be thinking, “if no one knows how search engines rank websites then why are there so many programs and products available that advertise that they do?” Even though search engines have not made this information public, people have made and tested some basic assumptions, but at best they are educated guesses and in some cases they are right on target. A major problem that a lot of experts have with trying to solve Google’s indexing algorithm is that it is consistently changing, so what may work today is not guaranteed to work tomorrow.

Google has said at past web conferences that the most important weight in determining a site’s rank in its search engine is the number of backlinks that a site has. For those of you who are unsure of what backlinks are, they are simply hyperlinks that are found one website that leads back to your site. Google’s spiders or bots are always scanning the internet and as backlinks are discovered they are indexed.

There are some factors that need to be taken into considerations when it comes to backlinks. Firstly, understand that not every backlink has the same value. The value of each backlink is variable as determined by the rank of the site that they are found on, the quality of content where the kinks are found, and how relevant the sites are to the content and keywords (Remember these are just widely accepted assumptions that have not been officially validated by Google). So if you’re a web developer wanting to rank higher in Google searches your best option is to work hard to generate as many backlinks as possible.

One thing to be aware of is that there are programs and websites available that check the number of backlinks a site has. But remember it’s important to understand that none of these programs are accurate because these programs are getting their information from the search engines. And the search engines are not showing the whole picture, and only show these backlink checkers a percentage of the backlinks that are really on the internet. The reason for this is because if the total number of backlinks were made public a search engine’s indexing algorithm could be backwards engineered to a point; even though it wouldn’t be exact.

In the end, work hard to create as many backlinks as possible and maybe at some point you will see your website or blog ranked on google page one!

Hi,

I have a website http://www.boyceweb.com which I have optimised for the keyword BoyceWeb. I do Web Design and SEO for a living and have my clients top of Google for their keywords yet I can’t seem to do it for my own!

On page factor wise, I have BoyceWeb in the domain, header, start of title, start of description and in ALT Tags. The site is itself is very optimised, clean URL’S, registered with Google and sitemap submitted. I am currently second for the keyword ‘BoyceWeb’ the website which is top is a family genealogy which is not optimised for ‘BoyceWeb’ indeed only on one page is that keyword even mentioned!

Although my site has only been up a few months the domain name is 7 years old and I know Google like Domain Age. I have been building niche relevant, authority backlinks to my website and I am updating my website content.

I have done my research behind the genealogy website and part from domain age and a few more PR 0 backlinks I outclass it from for the keyword ‘BoyceWeb’ so I do not understand why my website is not top for that keyword.

Can anyone else shed any light on this for me? Is it a case of patience? How long do you think it will take? Is there something else I can do?
