How does google make money by providing Satellite and street view maps. They must cost a lot to produce but I don’t see the profit in it, their are no ads on the maps or anything.

When I google map my house, its not in the right place. the street is correct, but the location on the street is off by a couple of blocks. Its not really a problem unless someone tries to look up directions to my house using google. its correct on yahoo and mapquest.

Is there a place where you can submit corrections to google maps?

Go to Google Maps and type in "Bikes San Francisco" The 7 will show Mike’s Bikes. Go to the "more results in San Francicso" link and click. On the next page it will show the map with Mike’s Bikes having it’s logo displayed. How are they doing that?

This isn’t a problem with Google Earth, it’s with the maps.google.com website. I keep getting the message "We are sorry, but we don’t have maps at this zoom level for this region. Try zooming out for a broader look" in random spots on the map when I try to access it from both Firefox and IE. What gives?

Additional details – this happens both in the satellite AND map views. I am not looking at remote locations… I get the same message when I look at a very un-remote location (say, downtown NYC). When I look at the same location from another computer, I don’t get the message. In fact, if I play around with the zoom option, I’ll see the street I’m looking for, but will find the gray box with the message on the street right over, etc.
Just an added note – I have no problems with any other websites/images and I have the ‘newest’ web browsers.

My dad is getting ready to retire from truck driving for about 50 years. He’s been an avid "jeeper/4 wheeler/amateur photographer"’ in the process". I know that he would be a great asset for taking virtual earth/Google maps pictures. Who would you even talk to to get an application for that particular job?

I just created a website with Google and I also added my business to Google maps but when you Google any of the keywords I put in I get nothing it never comes up I’ve looked through countless pages. What am I doing wrong? I got a pin and they called and verified activation – Don’t know what;s causing it to not show up.

I downloaded the google earth app for my ipod touch and it is the same thing basically as maps, but actually i think that maps is better because it gives u all the street names and stuff and u can switch from satellite to hybrid to maps easily and i dont see the point of the google earth app if there is the maps app that is the same, if not better

A few days ago I had used Google Maps to find driving directions from point A) my house to point B) another address. I need to be able to view that address again because I am a dumbbutt and forgot to write it down.

Is there a way to view an address you recently searched for in Google Maps? My internet browsing history on my computer has not been cleared since then. Thanks.
